I want to move to Stockholm. How do I find an apartement?

Immigration

Since the rules for immigration can vary it is best to contact the Swedish embassy or consulate in your country.

Live

If you are moving to Stockholm and need to find accomodation, it is important to start well in advance. A good start is to get in line straight away at any of the accomodation agencies.

Stockholms Stads Bostadsförmedling, Stockholm Housing Service, is one of those accomodation agencies. They arrange rental flats in the city of Stockholm and the outskirts of the Stockholm area but they do not have sub-letting nor exchange arrangements. It usually takes one or a couple of years of waiting time to receive an original lease to an apartment.

A alternative is to go through a sub-letting agency in order to find accomodation. There are serveral sublease agencies that can provide the contact.
