A world class Stockholm - the city vision of 2030

During the fall of 2006, a process started in Stockholm in which all of the city's departments, administrations and companies, along with several external partners, took part in formulating a long term, complete vision for Stockholm's development and for a sustainable growth. The project was named "Vision Stockholm 2030". The vision presents three coherent themes for the city's development, as well information on what Stockholm will look like in 2030.

In 2030, Stockholm is an obvious centre in the expanding Stockholm–Mälar region. The region’s international competitiveness is strong and it is seen as Europe’s fastest growing region. It features a dynamic, innovative business community that successfully competes on the global market, and is characterised by knowledge-based activities, innovative power and a fruitful cooperation between education and research institutes.

The citizens' Stockholm 

In 2030, Stockholm will be an accessible, safe region without social or physical barriers. The city also features much-appreciated social services that supply Stockholmers with extensive opportunities to choose between various providers of health and care services and schools.
