Governor General of Canada visits City Hall

On Tuesday February 21st Canada’s Governor General David Johnston and his wife Sharon Johnston visited City Hall.

The Governor General is leading a delegation that reflects Canadian society – ministers, parliamentarians, representatives from universities, businesses, religious communities and indigenous citizens.

The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between Canada and Sweden, to study and discuss integration, innovation, sustainability and the promotion of potential business opportunities.

During the visit to Stockholm, the Canadian delegation visited Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Mrs. Johnston also visited Fryshuset, where she learnt more about its work to combat exclusion among young people.
