Tours of the City Hall

The City Hall of Stockholm can only be visited with a guided tour. There are two options, either by a public tour or a private tour. Groups consisting of more than 10 people must book a private tour. Indivdual visitors can join a public tour or book a private one if they wish.

Public tours

Since the City Hall is a political office building, visitors can not walk alone in the halls; instead visitors are welcome to join public tours. These tours are available all year, in English, and during the summer, also in other languages. There is a limited number of tickets for each tour, so the public tours are aimed at individual visitors, not larger groups of 10 people or more. If your group consists of more than 10 people, please see "private tours".

Tickets are purchased at the City Hall on the day of the visit; tickets cannot be pre-booked or purchased online.

A tour of the City Hall takes the visitor through the halls, such as the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall, where the Nobel festivities take place. During the tour, the guide will talk about the many aspects of the City Hall:the historical background, the interesting architecture, the important political work and the many events and banquets, such as the Nobel Banquet.

Due to the large number of events in the City Hall, tours can be cancelled. Please see the updated information for each month, below.

On Saturdays, all tours from 11.00 and on, are limited. At that time, there are wedding ceremonies, which means that some halls are closed. However, the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall, generally considered to be the two most important halls, are open.
